The thought of taking on this responsibility may be keeping you up at night and be detrimental to the length of your nails. Or perhaps you plainly don't want to do it; you hate designing for the web. In any case, you care enough about your client to not pass them on to a total stranger and hope for the best...
You are a web designer, and in spite of the lagging economy you are up to your eyebrows in work. At first you are happy; you are finally saving up for that holiday in Southern France, or toothpaste. But soon you realize you are taking on more than you can handle, and new clients keep calling you. Remembering that pre-tax season you are just recovering from, you refuse to turn them away...
You are a design professional and the last time you drew, you were rewarded with a gold star sticker. But for this one project you're working on, clip art is just not going to cut it. In fact, you're feeling like you have spent more time looking for something decent on the web than it would have taken you to get a fine arts degree...
You are a web host; the completist that you are, you provide basic design services as well. But your latest client has asked you for a website AND a logo AND stationery AND those advertising magnets you stick on your car. You definitely want to take the job, but you'd rather do what you really enjoy; staying up three days and three nights solving that elusive database problem and eating nothing but cheap cheddar you bought in giant blocks at the discount store (we know; we've been there)...
Whatever your reason to ally forces with us, rest assured that you are most appreciated; mostly because your regular flow of business guarantees we don't have to spend all morning cold-calling new clients. To make it worth your while, we'll give you a discounted rate from our regular prices. You can charge your own clients anything you like, and it's up to you whether or not we will be communicating directly with them. Here's how it works:
1. Subcontract us for two project at our regular hourly rate of $80.
2. If you subcontract us again within a 3 month period for a different client, our hourly rate for any in-house work will drop to $65.
3. This rate will stand for three months.
We only ask that:
· the initial project(s) billed at our regular rate total over $800.
· you use our services for at least two of your clients.
Please note this plan is in its infancy stage and is prone to change with working experience.
